Flaw 1
The Balenciaga text on both pairs is similar, but there are a few minor flaws, such as the positioning, font size, and floating characters. The most significant issue is the position of the text; Bean’s version is higher than the authentic pair. The font size on Bean’s pair is also smaller. The floating characters—”L”, “E”, and “C”—on Bean’s trainers require close inspection to identify, so I would consider this flaw to be a minor nitpick.
Flaw 2
Bean’s toebox is shorter than that of the authentic pair, and its shape is also slightly off. However, this flaw might be hard to notice when wearing the trainers.
Flaw 3
The back heel bump on Bean’s trainers is less prominent compared to the authentic ones. While this flaw might be noticeable even when worn, it’s hard to spot, and the shape could deform with use, making it less apparent.
Flaw 4
The sole engraving of the Balenciaga word on Bean’s trainers is too thick compared to the authentic. Moreover, the depth of the engraving differs between the pairs, with the authentic having a shallower engraving than Bean’s.
Flaw 5
Continuing with the engraving flaw, let’s examine the back heel engraving. As indicated in the images, Bean’s engraving font appears squashed, and the depth isn’t as distinct as on the authentic. Furthermore, the positioning of the text on Bean’s trainer is lower than on the authentic pair.
Conclusion
Despite its flaws, Bean’s Balenciaga Speed Trainer is a high-quality replica. I have seen worse Speed Trainers that aren’t passable even at a glance. Hopefully, Bean can address the issues mentioned above, although I have my doubts since this is an older model. The latest model might be V2.0, but I still find the V1.0 Speed Trainer stylish.
