IWC Portofino 3565 by FKF factory

The FKF factory has been one of the standout factories in the replica watch market, known for producing robust timepieces. I will review their IWC Portofino watch, highlighting its flaws and sharing my thoughts. The seller will also be referenced at the end of this article.

Movement

The FKF factory utilizes the A2892 movement in their IWC Portofino watch. This movement closely resembles the ETA movement and is considered one of the top movements in the replica market. It is a thinner version of the ETA 2824 and is slightly inferior to the A2824 and A2836 movements in terms of build quality. They operate at 4Hz.

Flaw 1

Based on the images, both straps appear identical; however, the authentic strap is made from alligator skin, whereas FKF’s strap is crafted from plastic. FKF’s strap feels and smells like plastic.

Flaw 2

The engraving on the inner back case differs significantly. FKF’s engraving is barely legible, while the authentic engraving is distinct and prominent. This flaw could be easily rectified if the factory paid more attention to detail. Nevertheless, this flaw is not a major issue as it remains hidden from plain sight.

Flaw 3

The dial’s appearance is appalling when examining the font thickness. FKF’s font is noticeably thicker than that of the authentic version, leaving me speechless.

Flaw 4

The engraving on the metal buckles is similar, yet there’s a noticeable difference in depth. The authentic engraving is much deeper than FKF’s, making the IWC letters appear more pronounced.

Flaw 5

The final flaw concerns the engraving on the movement’s top plate. As depicted in the images, FKF’s top plate lacks any engraving, whereas the authentic version features the logo, “Made in,” and serial numbers engraved on the top plate.

Conclusion

FKF’s IWC Portofino is a decent piece, and while there are better watches out there, this doesn’t mean it’s bad—it’s just adequate. It can pass with a mere glance on your wrist, but anyone familiar with the authentic Portofino could easily spot the differences upon closer inspection. I adore the design of this watch; it exudes a classy, down-to-earth vibe when paired with formal attire. As always, peace out and stay vibey.
