Rolex Explorer 1 124270 36mm black dial by Clean factory
Clean factory’s Rolex Explorer 1 124270 36mm black dial is deemed one of the best in the market, if not the best. This is why I have chosen their watch for review, as they consistently produce good watches and movements. I will be going through their flaws and sharing my thoughts. The seller will be referenced at the end of this review.
Movement
The VR3230 is not a clone of the authentic 3230 movement but a hybrid between the 3135 and 3235 authentic movements. This movement is reliable but doesn’t have the same power reserve as the authentic one. Its power reserve is about 40 hours or less, and it beats at 4Hz. The spare parts for this movement may be hard to find, but a replacement is around 100 USD on AliExpress. Therefore, it is more practical to replace the movement rather than fixing minor parts.

Flaw 1
Point 1: As I am particular about the rehaut, it seems like Clean factory’s rehaut is solid in the engraving, but the crown logo is slightly misaligned.
Point 2: The words “SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED” are wonky; the characters aren’t uniform compared to the authentic version.
Flaw 2
The crown debossing differs on both watches. Clean’s Rolex logo isn’t as prominent as the authentic one based on the images, and the placement is slightly off.
Flaw 3
The rotor engraving is one of the best I have seen so far compared to other top-tier replicas in the market. I consider it solid, but if I were to nitpick, Clean’s font is too bold, and the crown engraving color is a few shades off from the authentic. Not to mention, Clean’s crown placement is slightly higher compared to the authentic. The “3230” engraving differs on both top plates; Clean’s font doesn’t have enough spacing between the numbers, and the color is a few shades off when compared to the retail.
Flaw 4
The engraving differs on both clasps. Clean’s Rolex logo engraving is good but is too thick compared to the retail. The position of Clean’s Rolex logo is slightly lower, and the “GENEVA” and “SWISS MADE” words are thicker than the authentic.
Conclusion
Clean’s Rolex Explorer 1 ref 124270 36mm black dial is indeed one of the best in the market, and I would be happy if I could get my hands on it for a deeper review. The watch does have room for improvement, but all in all, it is passable to the naked eye and even under brief close-up inspection. I love the sleek design of the Explorer with its black dial accent.
