Rolex Explorer II ref 216570 white dial by BP factory
BP Factory has been around for a while and is considered a decent manufacturer, especially known for their great Rolex dials. Many of our rep fams are pleased with their watches. Today, I will be reviewing their Rolex Explorer II 216570 white dial by pointing out the flaws and sharing my thoughts. The seller will be referenced at the end of this review. Let’s get started.
Movement
The Asia 3187 movement is a dressed-up version of the Asia 2836, which is an ETA clone movement. It is reliable and easy to service but is not a Rolex movement. Therefore, some of the functionalities of the watch may differ from the authentic, such as the knob used to set the time.
Measurements
Authentic diameter: 42MM || BP diameter: 42MM
Authentic thickness: 12.5MM || BP thickness: 13MM
Authentic Waterproof depth: 100M || BP Waterproof depth: 50M
Flaw 1
Point 1: The “Rolex” and “Oyster Perpetual Date” fonts are slightly thicker compared to the genuine ones, and BP’s font appears a bit horizontally squashed.
Point 2: BP’s “Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified” text is also slightly thicker than the genuine, similar to point 1. Furthermore, the text appears a bit wonky.
Point 3: The font color on BP’s Explorer II is less vibrant than the authentic, which is quite obvious even without a side-by-side comparison. One would notice the flaw if they own an authentic 216570.
Point 4: The color on the triangle-shaped 24-hour hands differs. BP’s hand color is darker than the genuine. Personally, I would label this as a red flag, as the flaw is very prominent.
Point 5: The white color fill on the hour markers is dull on BP’s version compared to the authentic.
Flaw 2
BP’s number 4 font on the bezel appears chopped off at the top when compared to the authentic. This flaw isn’t obvious without an authentic for side-by-side comparison.
Flaw 3
The Rolex logo embossing differs on both crowns; BP’s Rolex logo is thinner and smaller compared to the genuine. Additionally, BP’s horizontal line positioning and size differ from the authentic.
Flaw 4
The Rolex logo differs on both clasps in terms of shape and size. BP’s Rolex logo cutout is too small compared to the authentic, as shown in the image above.
Flaw 5
While the inner clasp is not visible to the naked eye, BP Factory shouldn’t overlook this detail. The engraving on BP’s clasp is significantly off from the authentic. It appears that BP printed on the clasp instead of engraving it, likely to cut production costs.
Conclusion
BP’s Rolex Explorer II 216570 white dial is decent, but I wouldn’t consider this a top-tier batch due to the numerous red flags. However, if you’re comfortable with flaws that aren’t visible to the naked eye, then this watch might suit your desires. Personally, I believe you can get better quality for the price you pay for this watch. In BP Factory’s defense, this watch is passable with just a quick glance. As always, peace out and stay vibey.
