Rolex Explorer II ref 216570 white dial by JD factory

JDF is a decent factory; however, their Rolex Explorer II 216570 white dial stands out as a top-tier replica watch in the rep community, with many positive reviews. I will be pointing out its flaws and sharing my thoughts. The seller will be referenced at the end of this review.

Movement

The Asia 3186 is a dressed-up version of the Asia 2836, which is a reliable clone of an ETA movement that is not any of the Rolex movements. This movement is easy to fix or service and would be a great fit for a person who doesn’t mind the movement and just wants a watch that ticks. However, the functionality of this movement may differ from the authentic one; for example, the twisting of the crown to set the time.

Measurements

Authentic diameter: 42MM || JDF diameter: 42MM
Authentic thickness: 12.5MM || JDF thickness: 13MM
Authentic Waterproof depth: 100M || JDF Waterproof depth: 50M

Flaw 1

Point 1: The font on JDF is slightly bigger than the authentic and is one of the best I have seen so far. Great job, JD factory!
Point 2: JDF’s Explorer II color is slightly lighter than the authentic.
Point 3: The “Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified” font on JDF is a bit thicker and wonky compared to the authentic.
Point 4: The white color fill on JDF’s hour markers is a bit dull compared to the authentic, but it is not the worst among all the top-tier batches.
Point 5: The color of JDF’s triangle-shaped 24-hour hand is totally off compared to the authentic. This is a common flaw among all the top-tier batches, so I am not surprised and would consider this a red flag.

Flaw 2

The Rolex logo embossing differs on both crowns in terms of size and position. JDF’s Rolex logo embossing is thinner than the authentic, and the underline position is also off.

Flaw 3

The engraving differs on both inner clasps. JDF’s Rolex logo engraving is barely visible, and the size and positioning are wrong compared to the authentic. Not to mention, JDF’s “GENEVA” and “SWISS MADE” words are thin compared to the authentic. The metal finishes also differ on both inner clasps, as shown in the images above.

Conclusion

JDF’s Rolex Explorer II 216570 white dial is considered a decent watch but not top-tier, as the color of the triangle-shaped 24-hour hand is totally off and can be spotted easily with just a quick glance. The other flaws are not visible to the naked eye, which is still fine in my opinion. I know I may have criticized this watch for its flaws, but I would consider this one of the best mid-tier watches in the category, though not for the price. As always, peace out and stay vibey.
