Apple Airpod Max by 刘danny
I purchased an Airpod pro from Liu Danny a few years back, and the product was amazing. The Airpods Pro’s sound quality isn’t as good as the original, but it still amazes me today. Moreover, the noise cancellation and transparency modes of the Airpods Pro work!
Judging by how amazing Danny’s Airpod pro could be, I am going to give it a shot at his Airpods Max, and it turns out isn’t as good as I thought. However, Danny’s Airpod Max has pros and cons, but the cons outweigh the pros.

Flaw 1
The quality of Danny’s Airpod Max is decent but isn’t similar to the original Airpod Max. The mesh quality on Danny’s Airpod Max is flimsy and soft on the touch. It feels like it could break with a little force. On the other hand, the original mesh quality is stiff and thick.
As shown in the image above, Danny’s mesh quality is poorer than the original ones.
Flaw 2
Danny’s Airpod Max button and the knob are other issues. It makes creeky sounds whenever I turn the knob or press the button. This will not happen on the authentic Airpod Max; go into any Apple outlet to try it yourself. Moreover, the knobs and the button are very loose and feel like they could drop off after a prolonged pressing and turning.
Flaw 3
The exterior of Danny’s earcups are made out of plastic. On the other hand, the authentic ones are made out of metal. However, the weight of Danny’s Airpod max is similar to the retail, even though it is made of plastic. Surprisingly, you can only tell the difference if you touch it; the light reflection on both Airpods Max earcups are very similar. Aesthetically, it is impressive, but not the feel and quality.
Flaw 4
After removing the earcups, there are a few differences on both Airpod Max. As shown in the image above, Danny’s Airpod Max is missing a dot compared to the authentic ones. Furthermore, the diffusers on Danny’s Airpod Max are placed too close to each other.
On the other hand, the authentic Airpod Max has its diffusers placed further apart, and the overall sound quality is better than Danny’s Airpod Max.
Flaw 5
Based on the images above, the embroidery differs on both earcups. The letters are more prominent and have better mesh quality than the authentic ones. On the other hand, the letters on Danny’s earcups are hardly visible, and the mesh isn’t as knitted as the original ones.
So that you know, Danny’s earcups can be replaced with the original earcups.
Conclusion
I have an issue I need to voice out before I think about Danny’s Airpod Max. Danny’s Airpod Max had a pairing problem with any Apple device. You will not be able to reconnect after you have forgotten the Airpod Max device from your settings. The only fix is to let the battery dry out and recharge it again.
Danny’s responses are almost instant if you place an order with him, but the after-service is bad; his response slows down and doesn’t provide any viable solution. I tried all the troubleshooting he mentioned, but none of them worked, so I left the Airpod Max to collect dust, and that’s when I found the solution to fix the connection issue, and I was able to write this review.
Overall, Danny’s Airpod Max’s aesthetic is on point; even the serial number checks out on the Apple website. However, I will not be using his Airpod Max for a simple reason: the functionality is lacking. Such as noise cancellation and transparency mode. Moreover, the paring issue is a hassle if you want to switch the device; you will have to let the battery deplete to zero and recharge it to pair with a new device. FYI, his Airpod Max isn’t cheap too.
