COCO’s own brand, the GD batch, claims its Off White Nike Air Jordan 1 University Blue is superior to other high-end replica pairs on the market, earning it the number 1 spot. However, I hold a different opinion because not all replicas are perfect, and each pair has its own set of flaws. It ultimately comes down to what flaws the buyer is willing to accept. Thus, I will be pointing out the flaws in the GD batch and sharing my thoughts. The seller’s contact information will be referenced at the end of this review.
Flaw 1
The Air Jordan logos are similar, but the spacing between the design is narrower on GD’s logo and wider on the authentic logo. Additionally, GD’s bottom design appears squashed compared to the authentic’s.
Flaw 2
The lateral side of the swoosh differs in positioning. GD’s swoosh is positioned higher, as shown in the images. Furthermore, GD’s orange tab is slightly larger than the authentic’s, although the shape is similar. The “AIR” text is slightly tilted on GD’s pair.
Flaw 3
The medial text differs between the two pairs. GD’s text is slightly smaller, particularly noticeable in the character “B,” and the stitching overlaps the print, which is undesirable. Moreover, GD’s text does not bleed when compared to the authentic.
Flaw 4
The heel counter is among the best I’ve seen so far, with the only flaw being the white patch that differs in color, possibly due to lighting.
Flaw 5
The perforation holes are larger on the authentic but smaller on GD’s pair.
Flaw 6
The material of the “85” pull tab looks similar, but the text positioning is off when comparing both side by side. GD’s text is positioned higher than the authentic’s.
Conclusion
GD’s Off White Nike Air Jordan 1 is a solid pair that addresses several common flaws found in other top-tier batches. I can see why some in our replica community say that GD’s batch is better than others. However, it’s still not perfect, and there’s room for improvement, such as the medial text and the toebox perforation holes. Personally, this sneaker is good enough for me and passable in public.
