Rolex Daydate 40 in Rose Gold / Olive Dial 228325 by BP factory

BP Factory has made a name for itself with its Rolex Day-Date 40 in Rose Gold with an Olive Roman Dial (model 228235). This model is a popular choice in the replica community due to its similarities to the genuine model. However, as of this writing, a newer version of the Day-Date has been released by another factory using a material that brings the total weight closer to that of the genuine. Unfortunately, the weight of BP Factory’s Day-Date is still significantly off. Seller details will be provided at the end of this review.

Movement

BP’s Rolex Day-Date 40 uses the A2836 movement, a clone of the ETA movement that isn’t used in any genuine Rolex watches. This movement is favored among top-tier Day-Date replicas for its reliability and ease of service. Although this movement isn’t visible to the naked eye, the main difference lies in the functionality at the crown, such as the direction required to set the time.

Measurements

Authentic diameter: 40mm || BP diameter: 40mm
Authentic thickness: 12mm || BP thickness: 12.5mm
Authentic waterproof depth: 100m || BP waterproof depth: 30m

Flaw 1

Point 1: The day and date fonts on the BP Day-Date are thinner than those on the genuine, which uses a serif font, while BP’s appears more sans-serif.
Point 2: The text on the BP dial isn’t as prominent as the genuine, though the font style itself is accurate.
Point 3: The overall dial color on BP’s model is similar to the genuine but lacks the same level of reflectiveness.

Flaw 2

Upon closer examination, there is a noticeable difference between the crowns and the printed words on the dials of the two Day-Dates. BP’s crown shape is incorrect and less reflective, while the genuine crown is slim and tall. BP’s dial print is less vibrant compared to the genuine’s vibrant print.

Flaw 3

Examining both bracelets, BP’s model features a single-tone rose gold color, while the genuine model exhibits a two-tone color. This discrepancy is evident from various angles and under different lighting conditions.

Flaw 4

The rehaut on BP’s model is barely visible, whereas the genuine rehaut is prominently displayed.

Flaw 5

The embossing on the crown also varies between the two Day-Dates. BP’s embossing is smaller in scale and different in shape, with the genuine embossing appearing larger, noticeable by the two dots below the crown.

Conclusion

While BP’s Rolex Day-Date 40 Rose Gold with Olive Roman Dial 228235 is a decent replica, my main concern is the weight difference, which could be noticeable to anyone familiar with the genuine Day-Date. The other flaws mentioned are not major red flags. I would love to acquire this watch for a review but would hesitate to wear it daily due to its striking color, which attracts a lot of attention. As always, peace out and stay vibey!
