Rolex Explorer II ref 216570 white dial by GM factory

GMF has been a top-tier factory in the rep community for years, and I believe their factory will continue to maintain or even improve in producing better quality watches. Their Rolex Explorer II 216570 white dial has been reviewed countless times in the rep community, with many customers pleased with their purchase. Today, I will be pointing out the flaws and sharing my personal thoughts. The seller will be referenced at the end of this review.

Movement

The A3187 movement is a dressed-up version of the Asia 2836 movement, another clone of an ETA movement that is not a real Rolex movement. However, this movement is reliable, easy to service, and would be a great fit for someone who doesn’t care about the movement and just wants a watch that ticks. Another thing to note is that the functionality of this movement may differ from the authentic one; for example, the direction to twist to set the time may be different.

Measurements

Authentic diameter: 42MM || GMF diameter: 42MM
Authentic thickness: 12.5MM || GMF thickness: 13MM
Authentic Waterproof depth: 100M || GMF Waterproof depth: 50M

Flaw 1

Point 1: GMF’s “Rolex” and “Oyster Perpetual Date” fonts are slightly thicker than the genuine ones, and the Rolex crown is also thicker. In my opinion, someone who owns a genuine model would be able to tell.
Point 2: As shown in the images above, GMF’s triangle-shaped 24-hour hand color is darker than the genuine. I consider this a major red flag, and so far, all the so-called top-tier batches have this common flaw.
Point 3: GMF’s Explorer II color is a bit lighter than the authentic, and it seems like the authentic font is also more prominent than GMF’s font.
Point 4: The white color fill on GMF’s hour markers is dull compared to the authentic.
Point 5: Another common flaw, as shown in the images above, GMF’s “Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified” font is wonky and slightly thicker than the authentic.

Flaw 2

If you have read my other blog posts, you know I pay a lot of attention to the rehaut. GMF’s rehaut is not the worst but not acceptable in my opinion. The rehaut is barely visible compared to the authentic, as shown in the images above.

Flaw 3

The Rolex logo and the underline embossing differ on both crowns. GMF’s crown is thin and slightly smaller than the authentic. GMF’s underline positioning is also incorrect.

Conclusion

GMF’s Rolex Explorer II 216570 white dial is decent, but I would not consider this a top-tier replica watch. My main concern is the color of the triangle-shaped 24-hour hand on GMF. However, this would be a great watch if you don’t mind this flaw, as all other flaws are passable with just a quick glance. As always, peace out and stay vibey.
